Do I require a permit?

Depending on your location and the scope of work being done, a permit may be required. If a permit is required, we will obtain the permit, handle the inspections, and make sure everything is built and inspected to code.

How are payments made, and when are they made?

Terms of payment and amounts are broken down in the contract based on progress with a completion date. We take a deposit to start the job and the rest of payments are determined beforehand. Once work is completed to a predetermined point a payment is made, final payment is due upon completion of the job.

What is a change order?

A change order is when the customer asks the contractor to do additional work not included in the original contract. The cost of the additional work will be billed as extras and will be a separate invoice.

Estimates are typically received by our customers within 3 to 10 business days. There are some cases that may allow the estimate sooner or later depending on the job requested and currently workload. Overall, our goal at Thompson Construction is to be as accommodating to our customers as possible.
